I asked a few people to give their testimony. Personal stories are powerful, because they are proof that God is able to change people.
I got the other day a deep revelation. When Jesus was raised from the dead, the people needed to see Him. Thomas needed to touch his scars. When they saw Him, when they saw his scars, they believed in Him.
A lot of people today are not believing that Jesus is God and that He was raised from the dead. We as believers, are His Body on Earth. We were wounded and broken and dead in our sin. But Jesus gave us a new life, in Him, being one with Him. But often our scars are still visible. (What is the proof that we made mistakes, the pain we suffered etc.) Showing people our scars, showing others where we are coming from and what Jesus did for us to get us healed, can be exactly what people need to start believe in Jesus. Jesus is real! We can be His Body on Earth, so one with Him, that people see Him and feel Him.through us.
So never be ashamed if you carry a scar!
A personal story from prison
I asked one morning in the group who wanted to share a testimony. Raymond* was the first one who raised his hand and he told me his story.
Raymond was 14 years old when he walked away from home. His parents had affairs and he didn't receive love. He ended up on the streets, where he begged for money together with other kids. Slowly he got involved in drugs and crime.
A nice lady offered him a job. She was like a mother and a father for him. It went better for a while. But he started to use drugs again and started to take stuff from his job. He got fired.
He found his mother when he was 20 years old and was welcome to come and live by her. And he met his girlfriend. She was the only one he slept with. She gave him a beautiful daughter. In this season he was in and out of prison because of small crime (stealing). In prison he did an HIV-test, and tested positive. A big shock for him. The relationship with his girlfriend never worked out. She got involved with his brother and he was heartbroken. He started to do auto mutilation.
At this moment he has a girlfriend. He don't know what he will do without her. At this moment he is in prison, because he is fighting with people at home. They made a case against him. Raymond is realizing he needs to deal with his past, with his anger and with his pain. He will see someone when he will get out of prison.
Raymond knows Jesus, but he feels sometimes he is walking away from the Lord. Our classes in prison are teaching him that the Lord never walks away from him. That he is loved and that every day is a new chance to make right decisions.
Raymond would like to encourage you to believe in God. By Him everything is possible and God will send always help on the right times. Don't give up when you go through hard circumstances.
A testimony from our Inner Healing Class
My name is Lorraine Thomas.*
I have been in an abusive marriage for a very long time. I always thought that it was going to stop.... And I prayed and hoped God would change my spouse someday.
Well, that didn't happen.
And only after +/- 30 years of abuse.... Lots of damage was done, I also saw the scars, what the abuse did to my children. I blamed myself for staying in the marriage for so long.
By the grace of God, I had a privilege to attend the Inner Healing Course... And then I started to rediscover my self-worth, took my power back and started the process of being free from abuse... I'm taking in one step at a time to recovery and thank God for a phenomenal teacher and leader I had. Thank you so so much!
